Generative AI has taken the world by storm. The best known among them, a language model, ChatGPT by OpenAI, reached a 100 million user base In January this year within two months of its launch, making it the fastest-growing application ever. It has its own share of admirers, with some even hailing this as one of the most significant innovations in the history of humanity. There are a fair number of critics too, from Noam Chomsky to Daron Acemoglu for different reasons altogether.
