There is no other policy announcement in India, and maybe even globally, from which so much is expected other than the annual budget presentation by the finance minister in the parliament. It is expected to deal with short term issues and long term issues, address concerns of consumers and producers, balance sectoral and regional expectations, and of course, as a budget’s primary task is, balance revenues and expenditures. This year was no different.
